iPad 7

About

The iPad 7 2019, (officially the seventh-generation iPad, or iPad 7th Gen) was the follow-on to the 9.7” screen iPad 6, which had been released in 2018. This new member of the Apple tablet family was a large-screen iPad, aimed at the education market and other users looking for a budget iPad with a bigger display. As with previous iPad models, the sale price from new was adjusted according to the category of end-user, with students and educators getting a cheaper deal than other consumers. The size of the 10.2” Retina Display on this iPad set it apart from previous lower-end offerings, as it was the largest screen to date on an entry-level iPad.

The iPad 7th Gen was announced in September 2019 and released at the end of the same month, at which point the smaller-screened iPad 6 came out of production. Complete with the fast Apple A10 Fusion processor and a 10-hour battery life, the iPad 7 supported the 1st Generation Apple Pencil and was fitted with a connector for a full-sized Smart Keyboard, making this a highly versatile iPad at an affordable price.

Repairs

With education sector users firmly in its sights, along with many other commercial end-users, the iPad 7th Gen had the largest screen to date on any entry-level iPad – a 10.2” Retina Display. With a fast A10 processor, Apple Pencil support and the ability to add a full-sized Smart Keyboard, the iPad 7 2019 was a winner in kinds of environments and applications. Having the larger screen, however, did have some drawbacks – it presented a larger area of glass that could get broken or scratched. Being stuffed into a school bag or a briefcase could also cause problems for the iPad, with cameras, connectors and buttons failing due to accumulated dust and fluff, or simply being knocked about. It’s a good job that iTechnician is always on hand to carry out an on-demand iPad 7 screen replacement, or to mend sticking buttons, cameras and charging ports.
