iPad Pro 12.9

About

The iPad Pro family first came into public view at the same time as the iPad 1st Gen was announced, at an Apple Special Event in September 2015. This first generation of iPad Pro was a 12.9-inch screen version, which was released in November of that year. The largest iPad to date, the iPad Pro was the first to feature LPDDR4 RAM (or Low-Power DDR SDRAM) which is a high-speed RAM that is considerably less power-hungry than previous versions. The iPad Pro family was targeted at laptop and computer-users who wanted either a larger screen, a keyboard or a stylus.

Building on the success or the iPad Air 2 (which it effectively replaced), the iPad Pro had many of the now expected features, such as Touch ID and the Retina screen. The big difference with this iPad (apart from the impressively large screen size) was the addition of a smart connector, enabling the connection of a keyboard (a first for an iPad). Another innovation in the iPad Pro was the ability to use the Apple Pencil – a high-precision stylus, plus two pairs of stereo speakers, one pair at the top and one at the bottom of the unit.
