Frequently asked questions

Here at iTechnician, our aim is to make finding the right person to repair your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and MacBook, as quick and convenient as we can. Our website holds the answers to most questions; however, we appreciate that clients may sometimes need additional points of clarification. For this reason, we’ve created a list of some questions that we have been asked in the past, along with our answers. If you have a question that is not answered here, please feel free to contact us for more information.

What is iTechnician?

iTechnician (owned and operated by Interactive Network Ltd.) is an on-demand Apple device repair and maintenance service operating across the UK. It was set up to deliver fast and affordable repairs for people with damaged or non-functioning tech devices such as Apple iPhones, iPads, Watches, MacBooks and Mac computers. Using iTechnician you can find your nearest technician, and get fast and affordable repair quotes.

Do you charge a fee for using iTechnician?

Certainly not – your use of iTechnician is free, and always will be. We simply want to save you time and money when you’re looking for someone to deliver an iPhone screen repair or get your MacBook up and running properly again. Our simple quote form takes minutes to complete, and you will get access to the widest possible choice of iTechs in your local area, who can give you an affordable quote to carry out your repair.

Can I get a repair done same day?

No-one wants to be without their phone, tablet or computer, so we appreciate the need for speed. Many of our iTechs offer a same-day express repair service, and many of them can even come out to you wherever you happen to be (at work, at home, in a coffee shop) to deliver your on-demand repair. Simply fill in our online quote form to find your nearest iTech and give them a call.

How long do repairs usually take?

Simple and straightforward repairs such as iPhone screen replacements can usually be completed within 20 minutes to 1 hour, right in front of you while you wait. More complex repairs (for example internal component issues that require diagnosis) will usually take longer. When you make a booking for a repair, ask the iTech to give you an idea of how long it will take, and whether you will need to leave your phone with them.

Do you only repair Apple products?

No, you will be pleased to know that all our iTechs are Apple repair experts, but they also can repair other products from the many and varied manufacturers. You can get an iPhone or iPad repair, plus a MacBook, iMac or Mac computer hardware repair or software upgrade. You can equally well ask our iTechs to repair or maintain games consoles, phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers – they are multi-skilled and will apply equal care to your maintenance or repair, whatever the make of tech device.

Will i be asked to pay up-front?

No, you only need to pay for the service you have received when you are happy with the outcome. Most iTechs offer a ‘no fix, no fee’ promise, where if they can’t find or fix the fault, they will not make a charge. Others may make a nominal charge where extensive diagnostics have been completed, but all of them agree that you should not pay anything until the job is done.

Will I get a guarantee on my repair?

Most iTechs offer a repair warranty, which covers parts and workmanship. The guarantee period will vary in length depending upon the type of repair that has been carried out.

Who do the iTechs work for?

Members of the iTechnician network are owners of small to medium-sized independent businesses, rather than franchisees. This means that they can offer maximum flexibility in service and price to exactly meet the needs of their customers. When you call on an iTech, you will usually be dealing directly with the person who owns or has a stake in the business, someone who really understands that the way to get repeat custom is to offer the best deals and service to their customers. It’s win-win – you benefit by getting great deals and a fast response, and they benefit by being part of a network that accesses potential customers all over the UK.

What are the opening hours?

Our network consists of many individual businesses, operating different opening hours and days depending upon local requirements. You will find some who are available until late, 7 days a week, and others (for example situated in shopping centres and market halls) who are only open during trading hours. When you ask for a quote, it’s worth checking on opening hours at the same time.
I want to sell my Apple device; will someone buy it?

Lots of our iTechs operate a buy and sell scheme, whereby they can make you a cash offer for your old iPhone or iPad (working or not), or agree to take it in part-exchange for a new or refurbished model. You will get the best deal around, and can turn your old iPhone into cash quickly and securely when you sell it to an iTech.

Do you sell new or refurbished iPhones?

Yes, many iTechs stock second-hand as well as brand new and unused iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, and they could offer to take your old Apple device in part-exchange. They can then refurbish and recondition your old unit and offer it for sale as pre-owned, usually at a fraction of the price of a new one. You can get some real bargains in refurbished phones and tablets, saving yourself £££. New devices usually come with a manufacturer’s warranty, and refurbished handsets may be offered with a warranty from the seller.

Do you sell accessories?

Yes, you will be amazed at the amount and variety of accessories stocked by a large number of iTechs – iPhone and iPad cases in a dazzling array of colours and designs, as well as chargers, earphones (EarPods), cables and just about anything else you can think of.
