iPad Mini 5

About

The iPad Mini 5 (the 5th Gen iPad Mini or iPad Mini 2019) was announced, along with the iPad Air 3, in March 2019. The iPad Mini 5 was the replacement for the previous year’s iPad Mini 4, which then immediately ceased production. The announcement of the 5th Gen iPad Mini was unusual in that it was made via the publication of a press release, rather than at a live event for the press. Similar in appearance to the iPad Mini 4, this later version was powered by the Apple A12 Bionic chip, was available in 64 GB or 256 GB storage versions, and supported the 1st Generation Apple Pencil.

The iPad Mini 5 was equipped with a 7.9” True Tone Retina Display, which in common with the iPad Air 3, had the ability to change light intensity and colour in order to adapt to ambient lighting conditions. The front camera was a similar 7 MP version to that already in use in the iPhone 7, and the A12 Bionic chip ensured that the iPad Mini 2019 was a respectable three times faster than the previous version. Complete with Lightning Port and headphone jack, the iPad Mini 2019 was small, portable and powerful.
